Weekly Review #11

Eleven. Yes, we just passed our eleventh week! It’s a milestone so let’s celebrate by doing what we do after every week. Let’s recap:

  • poor-mouth – to claim poverty as an excuse or defense
  • shim – a thin piece or wedge used to make something level or to adjust something to fit properly
  • pedagogy – the art or profession of teaching
  • portly – having a round, stout body
  • ruddy – having a healthy reddish color; reddish; rosy
  • murk – partial or total darkness; gloom
  • inculpable – free of guilt; blameless

Let’s use all words together.

Disguised as a portly professor, Agent U demanded the waiter to bring him a shim.

“I have devoted half of my life to pedagogy. I do not deserve to be treated like this. Is it because I wasn’t born into a wealthy family that’s why my request has been completely ignore many times?” he poor-mouthed so loud the entire restaurant turned eyes on him. This was the break that I needed. “How did this place get four stars? Tell me.”

I snuck swiftly into the kitchen and headed for the not-quite-a-fridge refrigerator. Hands made of plasma grabbed me and took me to the murk inside as I opened the door.

“Remember. The key to this mission is to remain inculpable,” I uttered under my breath. “This is a psychic monster.”

Inside the fridge lived a different dimension. Ruddy desert. Crimson sky. The entire place smelled like gasoline. 100 feet away from me stood a cobalt castle, where the monster lived. I walked to its direction, about to face another demon.
